LaunchFill vs Product Hunt for AI tool launches
This page is written by the makers of LaunchFill, one of the platforms compared here.
Competitor details checked on 2026-10-19; prices change, check their site.
If you want the biggest audience you can reach in a single day, launch on Product Hunt. Its community is far larger than ours: LaunchFill is a new, small site.
If you built an AI tool and want a whole week on a ranked board, a permanent directory page and a clear way to a dofollow link, LaunchFill covers that. The best plan for most makers is both, on different dates.

Products Product Hunt’s featuring rules leave out
Product Hunt’s featuring guidelines list kinds of products it does not feature on the homepage, among them directories and lists, templates, boilerplates, courses and services. A launch of one of those can still go live, but it lands in the “All” list instead of the homepage, where it can still collect upvotes and comments.Source: Product Hunt featuring guidelinesSource: Why is my post not on the homepage?
LaunchFill’s rule is narrower in one way and simpler in another: it only accepts AI tools, and every AI tool that passes review launches on the same weekly board as the others. There is no second, unfeatured list.Source: Review guidelinesSource: LaunchFill pricing
One day or one week
Product Hunt runs a daily board and suggests going live at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time, so a launch is mostly decided within that day.Source: Product Hunt Launch GuideSource: How Product Hunt works
On LaunchFill, all of a week’s launches go live together at Monday 00:00 UTC. There is no launch-day time slot to race for, and votes count on the board until it freezes at the end of Sunday.Source: Weekly launches and ranking
Links
We have not re-checked how Product Hunt marks the link to your site; a snapshot from 2026-10-02 showed rel="ugc noreferrer noopener", which is why the table says “Not confirmed”.
LaunchFill’s directory links carry rel="nofollow" by default. A Priority launch, or a free launch with our badge linking from your homepage, gets a dofollow link. The badge has to sit inside a link to launchfill.com; we check it when you submit.Source: LaunchFill pricingSource: Badges
Using both
Pick your Product Hunt day first, then choose a LaunchFill week that does not overlap it, so you can follow each launch properly. A free LaunchFill launch is queued from 3 weeks out, or 1 week with our badge on your site; Priority lets you pick any week with a place left, this week included.Source: LaunchFill pricingSource: Priority launch and sponsor weeks
