About

Cline is an open-source coding agent for developers, available as a desktop app, IDE extension, CLI, and SDK. It can inspect codebases, make coordinated multi-file edits, run terminal commands, and automate workflows in scripts and CI pipelines.

Plan mode lets you agree on a strategy before switching to Act mode. Cline supports multiple model providers, MCP servers, rules and skills, and custom tools and lifecycle hooks through its SDK.
